“Showdown in Little Tokyo” is a 1991 American buddy cop action film directed by Mark L. Lester. The film stars Dolph Lundgren as Sergeant Chris Kenner and Brandon Lee as Detective Johnny Murata. Set in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo district, the story follows Kenner, an American raised in Japan, and Murata, a Japanese-American not deeply connected to his heritage. Despite their cultural differences, both are martial arts experts who team up to combat a Yakuza drug dealer named Yoshida, portrayed by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
The film was released in the United States on August 23, 1991. It has gained a cult following among action fans, particularly for the chemistry between Lundgren and Lee.
