“Weekend in Taipei” is an upcoming action-comedy film directed by George Huang and co-written with Luc Besson. The film stars Luke Evans as John Lawlor, a dedicated DEA agent,
and Gwei Lun-mei as Joey Kang, a top “Transporter” in Taipei. The plot follows their
unexpected reunion 15 years after a forced separation, leading to a weekend filled with action and rekindled emotions.
The film is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on November 1, 2024.
